Kids and Pets at Home? PS Wall Panels Are a Worry-Free Answer
Once you have kids or pets, you quickly realize: walls are no longer just walls – they become drawing boards, scratching posts, and dirt magnets.
Freshly painted latex? Drawn on within days. New wallpaper? Scratched open by the cat or dog.
If this sounds familiar, take a look at PS wall panels. They are not perfect for everything, but for homes with children and pets, they make life a lot easier.

Why PS Wall Panels Work Well for Families with Kids and Pets
- Scratch-resistant – cat claws and dog nails won't ruin them
PS panels have a clear protective wear layer on the surface. A cat scratching a few times or a dog rubbing against the wall will barely leave a mark. Of course, if an animal deliberately scratches the same spot hundreds of times, it will eventually show – but for everyday play, PS panels hold up very well.
Compare that to wallpaper (tears easily) or latex paint (leaves a white scratch mark). PS panels are much tougher.
- Easy to clean – markers, crayons, footprints wipe right off
Kids draw on walls – it happens in almost every home. The smooth, non-absorbent surface of PS panels means you can wipe off crayon, water-based markers, and dirty footprints with a damp cloth and a drop of mild dish soap. No need for harsh chemicals, and you won't damage the surface.
With wallpaper, a few scrubs will tear it. Latex paint wears thin and flakes after repeated cleaning.
- No formaldehyde – safe for children's rooms
Formaldehyde is more harmful to children than to adults. PS panels contain no formaldehyde in the raw materials or production process. There is no strong smell after installation. Your child can sleep next to the wall or play on the floor without worry.
- Waterproof and stain-resistant – milk, juice, drool – no problem
Baby spits up milk on the wall? Dog shakes drool? Fruit juice splashes? PS panels don't absorb any of it. Just wipe with a damp cloth. Nothing soaks in and no stain is left behind.
- Safer edges – no sharp corners like tiles
After cutting PS panels, you can sand the edges with fine sandpaper or cover them with edge trims. Unlike ceramic tiles (hard and sharp), PS panels are less likely to cause injury if a child bumps into a corner – especially if you use corner protectors.

Comparison with Other Materials
|
Feature |
PS Panel | Latex Paint | Wallpaper | Ceramic Tile |
| Scratch resistance | Good (wear layer) | Poor (leaves white marks) | Very poor (tears easily) | Good (but hard, hurts more) |
| Kid's drawings easy to clean | Yes – damp cloth | Fair – scrubbing damages | Poor – stains stay | Good (but grout is hard to clean) |
| Formaldehyde | None | VOCs present | Glue contains | None |
| Stain & water resistance | Good | Fair | Poor | Excellent |
| Injury risk from bumping | Low (can be trimmed/edged) | Low (but wall can dent) | Low | High (hard and sharp) |
PS panels are not #1 in every single category, but they are the most worry-free overall – they resist scratches, stains, and are safe for kids and pets.

Where to Use Them in Your Home
- Lower half of living room walls – The area where kids and pets are most active. Install PS panels up to about 1.2 meters high. Paint the upper half or leave it plain. Practical and good-looking.
- Children's bedroom – The wall behind the bed and the wall near the desk. Cover them with PS panels. When your child draws, sticks stickers, or leans against the wall, you won't have to scrub and worry.
- Hallway – Both sides of a hallway get dirty quickly. Use PS panels in a light grey or neutral wood grain – they hide marks and are easy to clean.
- Balcony / pet area – Walls near the dog bed or cat tree. Cats will scratch the PS panel instead of your sofa or door frame.

A Few Tips
- Choose virgin material– Recycled material becomes brittle over time and won't hold up to pets. Always ask.
- Use anti-mold silicone for joints– If you install panels near where pets drink water or children wash hands, seal the joints with neutral anti-mold silicone to prevent mold in damp areas.
- Edge trims for outside corners– Cover protruding corners with edge trims. This makes them safer if a child runs into them.
- Test a sample first– When you get a sample, scratch it lightly with a key, wipe it with a damp cloth, and smell it. Only order the full quantity when you're satisfied.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: Where is your factory located?
A: No. 10-1 Lianhong Road, Yuanhua Town, Haining City, Zhejiang Province, China.
Q2: Will my cat really not scratch them?
They are not completely scratch-proof. Normal sharpening of claws will not leave marks. But if a cat scratches the exact same spot hundreds of times aggressively, the wear layer will eventually show wear. We recommend also providing a scratching post so your cat has a preferred place to scratch.
Q3: My child drew with water-based markers a week ago – can I still clean it off?
The longer a stain sits, the harder it is to remove. Clean it the same day with a damp cloth. If it has been several days, try a soft cloth with a little toothpaste or baking soda paste. Do not use steel wool or strong solvents.
Q4: Our baby is just learning to crawl. Are the panel edges sharp?
Freshly cut edges can be slightly sharp. Before installation, sand them with fine sandpaper (400 grit or higher) or use PVC edge trims / foam bumper guards. Then they are perfectly safe.
Q5: If a pet urinates at the base of the wall, will it soak in?
PS panels themselves do not absorb liquid, so urine will not soak into the panel. However, it can run down the gap between panels and reach the wall base. If the joint between wall and floor is not sealed, moisture could get into the wall. We recommend sealing the base with a bead of anti-mold silicone. Also, wipe the area when you mop the floor.
Q6: Can your panels be used in a pet grooming shop or pet store?
Yes. Many pet shops and veterinary clinics use PS panels for walls and some barriers. They are waterproof, easy to clean, and scratch-resistant. We suggest choosing 5mm thickness for extra durability. We can provide small samples for you to test.
