Project Background

   "Shanjian Xiaozhu", a boutique homestay in the West Lake Scenic Area of Hangzhou, had an old water-washed stone facade with many cracks and stains, which urgently needed renovation. The owner hoped to create a warm and simple rural earth brick style, but due to the building being a light steel structure, it could not bear the weight of a natural brick wall. In addition, the homestay needed to operate normally during the construction period, and could not accept long-term noise and dust.

Solution

   PU Mud Brick Panel (Panel A) was adopted, customized to "weathered adobe yellow" color with size 1200×180×35mm. The construction team directly cleaned the floating dust on the original water-washed stone wall, applied interface agent, pasted the panels with polyurethane structural adhesive, and reinforced them with a small amount of stainless steel screws. The total exterior facade area was about 180 square meters, and the paving and joint filling were completed in only 5 days, which shortened the construction period by about 15 days compared with the traditional bricklaying scheme.

Effect Feedback

   The renovated exterior wall of the homestay presents a natural and mottled old brick texture, which is highly integrated with the surrounding mountain forest environment.
